Ethnic Map of the Philippines

The Philippines is made up of a colorful diversity of peoples, with over 80 ethnic languages spoken in the country.  Below is a tree of the Philippine ethnolinguistic groups, compiled from different studies*, as well as personal knowledge.

*Studies include Adelaar and Himmelmann, Austronesian Basic Vocabulary Database, and Ethnologue.

The most dominant of the Philippine ethnic groups are the Tagalog, followed by the Bisaya and the Ilocano. On the other hand, minority ethnic groups are getting more and more marginalized, their native languages slowly dying. It is believed that a federal government for the Philippines would resolve this threat, especially where it is configured to empower all ethnic groups by setting up, not just federal states, but ethnic states.

    1. our hometown or native town is the present City of Zamboanga (Ciudad Latina de Asia)...

the Zamboangueño People were once the Lutao People who are also one of the natives of Jambangan before it was hispanized to Zamboanga.
the Lutao People went into the process called "Hispanization" as follows: Conversion to Catholicism, adopting Spanish Names, adopting Hispanic Culture and language. thru inter-racial matrimony and inter-lingua communication, a new breed of Filipino ethnic Group was born, called - "Zamboangueño". together with their unique language called Chavano, then it was evlove to Chavacano de Zamboanga o Zamboangueño Dialect.

    2. the Zamboangueño as a people or ethnic group speaks Zamboangueño. Ciudad de Latina Zamboanga as their native home town. though, the Zamboangueño Language is also the lingua franca of Basilan Province, recognized minority language in semporna-Sabah (malesia), spoken also in parts of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur.

the grand festivity of Zamboangueños is the celebration in honor to Maria del Pilar known as "Fiesta Pilar - Zamboanga Hermosa" in honor to Maria Virgen del Pilar de Zaragoza.

Maria Virgen del Pilar is the Patroness of the Zamboangueño y de la Hispanidad.

  2. Hi, arondayot Zamboangueño! Thanks for giving us that valuable piece of information. I did not include Chavacano because their language is a Spanish creole, which I'm not sure could be properly called Philippine. It's my first to hear of the Lutao People. I'd look deeper into this. Thanks.

Bro, the title said "ETHNIC MAP OF THE PHILIPPINES".

Our Ethnicity Name is "Zamboangueño", are we not part of the Ethnic Map of the Philippines?

IF that's the case then we should better leave the republic and Re-Establish back our own Republica de Zamboanga.
